The SLAHS Quarterly Meeting will be Thursday September 10, 2015 at 6:30 PM at the Sussex Waukesha State Bank on State Road 164.  Starts promptly at 6:30pm!

New Exhibits! We have a camera exhibit with examples dating back to circa 1910. Also - View the history of the bandaid thru an exhibit of old bandage and tape tins! Plus our newest exhibit on our local music history is progressing; polka waltz and rock n' roll!

There's an exhibit in "Fred's Room"! Celebrating Land O' Lakes Baseball in Lannon and Sussex/Lisbon. Looking for old jerseys, caps, bats, mitts, umpire equipment, trophies, pennants, team photos and news articles. Note: In 7 yrs will be 100th Anniversary of Founding!

Museum Memorial Garden: We are in need of volunteers to care for the flowers and trees. Please call June Keller (262) 246-3603 if interested in helping.

The Sussex-Lisbon Area Historical Society, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the collection and preservation of historically significant artifacts, pictures, stories, and similar materials from the Sussex and Lisbon area (Lannon, Colgate, Lake Five, Marcy, Merton, Pewaukee, Menomonee Falls, and Butler). The Society held organizational meetings in mid 2001, and formally announced intentions for official formation as a non-profit corporation in November 2001. The Society is affiliated with the Wisconsin State Historical Association as a local society.

The Society has an open membership policy, welcoming all interested parties to join for a nominal fee. Annual memberships are for the calendar year beginning on January 1 of each year. Lifetime memberships are also available for a fee.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Board of Directors Meeting: Depot Museum, 6:30 PM on 8/6/15, 11/5/15. Note: Additional meetings may be announced.

Exhibit Committee Meeting: Members will be called when needed for date, location and times.

SLAHS Planning & Steering Committee: next meetings: at Depot Museum, Wednesdays at 6:30pm on 7/8/15. 7/22/15. 8/12/15, and 8/26/15. Meetings will continue every other Wednesday night.

SLAHS Volunteer Workday: After Spring April 11, 2015 opening: The Museum will be open every Wednesday of the month from 1:00 to 7:00 PM until November 30, 2015.

Lisbon Heritage Days: Aug 8 & 9, 2015, Lisbon Community Park

 

We ask that when visiting the museum to please park more at the Piggly Wiggly, or across the street at library, or village hall parking lots. We want to be good neighbors and not crowd our new neighbors out, or their customers from being able to park on their own property. Thank you .
