100 years ago - week of Feb. 29, 1912
The Wittlin Motor Co. in Menomonee Falls via the Bugline Railroad received a shipment of 1912 Ford cars.

The ad, "Children cry for Fletcher's Castoria," should probably read, "Children scream against being forced to take Castoria" (castor oil).

Bertel Davidson of Sussex has purchased the furniture and fixtures of a Menomonee Falls barber shop and is moving them to downtown Sussex.

50 years ago - week of Feb. 29, 1962
The local Falls movie theater is offering seven days of Elvis Presley in "G.I. Blues."

The price of admission to the buffalo dinner banquet at Lannon's Wagner's Dug Out is $1 with the profits going to the Grand Championship Lannon Land O'Lakes baseball team.

Rev. Bernard Raabe will be in the Sussex on March 9 to see if there is enough interest to start a Lutheran church in the community.

Elfrieda Trapp, 81, has died on Feb. 19, 1987. Today her farm on Pewaukee Road and Highway 164 is Eagle's Ridge west.

Sussex Bowl, on its five-year anniversary, will offer hot dogs and soda for 25 cents each all day on March 1.
