A new, 12-room school on the Maple Avenue Stier farm area will be built in Sussex for $359,000.

Jim Jones of Sussex played in the Land 'O Rivers all-star basketball game and led the National All Stars with 13 points in a losing contest to the American All stars.

25 years ago - March 31, 1985

Michelle Prosek is an outstanding Hamilton shot putter. She won the Braveland Conference indoor event with a 36-foot, 5 1/2- inch distance becoming the first girl to win a shot put event for Hamilton. Meanwhile, sophomore Matt Chandler is an outstanding Hamilton boys track hurdler.

10 years ago - March 31, 2000

Sheepshead will be offered at the upcoming Lions Daze.

February and March were record-setting warm periods for Sussex-Lisbon; March 7 was 81 degrees.

All three incumbents Vicki Braden, Fred Gallant and Al Olmstead are running for the Sussex Village Board along with challenger Chuck Vojtas.

The Lisbon Fire Department fought a mobile home fire at Willow Springs Mobile Home Park with an estimated $35,000 in damages according to Fire Chief Doug Brahm.

Bielinski has scrapped its development plan for Mammoth Spring Canning Company.
