Patrick McCartin of Lake Five died of consumption at age 48. He was a widower and left no children.

Lisbon pioneer George Greengo died at his North Lisbon home Feb. 11 at age 75. He was buried at St. Alban's.

Another Lisbon pioneer, Margaret Craven, died at age 93. Born in Scotland, she moved to Lisbon in 1841 and married Richard Craven in 1844.

50 years ago - 1958

Chester Lingelbach and Eugene Belongia were elected replacement officers of Sussex Methodist Church.

Ham cost 49 cents a pound, and small shrimp sold for 79 cents a pound.

The Sussex Teen Haven Club dance at the Sussex Community Hall drew 200 people.

Lisbon-born Ida Edwards, 90, died. She started teaching at local grade schools, then at Waukesha High School. She was raised in what is now Eagles Ridge West.
