Rudy Kerstein was rewarded for 28 years of safe driving as a Sussex rural mail carrier. He actually deserved it for 43 years, but the post office's safe-driving records only went back 28 years then.

Margaret Hoffman (nee Butler), 84, died. She arrived in Lisbon with its second wave of immigration from Germany in the 1880s. She taught at Lisbon Plank School, Nelson School off Town Line Road and Merton Grade School.
