Abbey Road

Tribute to the Beatles Band Mike Truttschel via Facebook, May 6, 2015: "Mike Reilly, this is a video that Mark Kenney had posted of our group Abbey Road from the 1992 Chicago Beatlefest held at The Hyatt Regency near O'Hare in Rosemont, IL. This was a battle of the Beatle bands held in the grand ballroom. There were about 20 bands in all. It's too bad that the audio and video quality is not real good except for posterity. The winner was decided by audience reaction and we won this one. Band members at this one were: Rick Dzik - bass, Craig Reese - drums, Mark Kenney - guitar/keyboard and Mike Truttschel - keyboard/guitar."

The 1992 winners of the Beatle Band sound alike contest in Chicago Illinois. The name of the band was Abbey Road. The band featured Mike (Mikey) Truttschel who was the 3 time winner of the Beatle solo sound alike contest, also held in Chicago. Mark Kenney on Guitar, Rick Dzik on Bass Guitar and Craig  Uploaded by Mark Kenney 2012.

Mark Kenney Mike Reilly, as far as the Abbey Road band is concerned, it was a name that was picked by Mike Truttschel. This group only performed live 3 times. Once a year from 1990- 92 in the "Beatles sound alike" contest in Chicago. It was held at "Beatle fest" which is the largest gathering of Beatlemania fans in the Midwest. It attracted musicians from all across the nation.

Abbey Road took second place in 1990 and it was very close. The winning group was a professional Beatle band by the name of "Liverpool."
We placed third in 1991

In 1992 we won the whole thing and never returned. It was a cool accomplishment and one of my favorite memories.
Members of that group included, Mike Truttschel, Dave Kenney, Dave Kearns, Rick Dzik and Mark Kenney
