I came across you site when doing a
Google search for Tempero as I also have Tempero ancestors (I'm
descended from Henry Tempero a nephew of Charles and Thomas
Tempero who were the two members of the family who emigrated
from Great Milton, Oxfordshire, England to Wisconsin in the
1840s.
In the information on your site,
William Tempero and Mary Bitteridge are shown as the parents of
Charles and Thomas. This is not correct. Their parents were John
Tempero and Mary Betteridge.

There is a family story that Henry Tempero, who emigrated with his wife and family from England to New Zealand in 1870 , had visited his uncles in Wisconsin some years earlier and had purchased land while out there but somehow lost it. This record would seem to substantiate this story which we had all thought had no real basis in fact. Do you know which part of the state is involved with the Hudson Land Office and how I could find out more about the purchase by Henry Tempero?
