1. GEORGE1 ELLIOTT, SR. was born October 07, 1793 in Beckley, Sussex, England, and died 1870 in LaMoille, Illinois (Source: Elliott Family by Fred Keller SLAHS newsletter 10/16/02.). He married (1) SHARLOTT WEAVER Aft. 1804 in Peasmarsh, England. She died March 16, 1822 in Peasmarsh, England. He married (2) LUCY TRANSIT (Source: Elliott Family by Fred Keller SLAHS newsletter 10/16/02.) Aft. May 16, 1822 in Nine children total, three sisters bef George Jr.. She was born December 25, 1796 in Kent County, England, and died Aft. 1855 in LaMoille, Illinois.

Emigration 1: 1830, Arrived New York May 1, 1830.

Emigration 2: 1837, Arrived from New York to Town of Lisbon. Considered one of the two original families of the village of Sussex.

Occupation: Stone mason, bet 1839 - 1841 District Number One School (Plank Road School) (Source: Lisbon Plank Graduation by Fred H. Keller, Landmark 30th Anniv. Issue.)

Political 1: Bef. 1849, Lisbon town chairman

Political 2: Bet. 1849 - 1850, Waukesha County Supervisor.

Residence 1: 1804, Peasmarsh, Sussex, England

Residence 2: Abt. 1837, Purchased 160 acres bounded (today 2002) on the west by Maple Ave., the south by Main St., the east by Outer Circle Dr., and north by the Northwestern railroad tracks. (Source: Elliott Family by Fred Keller SLAHS newsletter 10/16/02.)

Residence 3: Abt. 1855, Moved to northern Illinois.

2. JAMES ANDERSON2 ELLIOTT (GEORGE1) was born August 07, 1835 in Augusta, Oneida, New York (Source: Elliott Family by Fred Keller SLAHS newsletter 10/16/02.), and died October 26, 1914. He married SARAH BOOTS November 01, 1861, daughter of EDWARD BOOTS and ELEANOR SMITH. She was born August 16, 1843 in Peasmarsh, Sussex, England, and died January 08, 1934 in Sussex, Lisbon Township, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.

Notes for JAMES ANDERSON ELLIOTT:

In one letter to his wife Sarah, during the war, James complained the lice were so severe, he had to hold his breath and submerge himself in the Arkansaw River to drown the lice. James asked his wife to go to the Champeny store (corner of Maple & Main) to get some blue ointment to treat the lice. Source: Elliott Family by Fred Keller

Masonic: 1874, First Master of the Sussex Ashlar Masonic Lodge No. 193 Free and Accepted Masons; served six terms and was active in many other rolls.

Military service: Aft. November 01, 1861, Civil War: Rejected by Army Medical Department, he volunteered as a civilian harness and saddle maker and teamster; part of the Trans-Mississippi Army in the Quartermaster's Department, 28th Regiment, Wisconsin Vol. Inf.; Source: Mark of the Elliott Family

Occupation 1: Stone mason

Occupation 2: Bet. April - May 1874, A founder of the Lisbon Mutual Insurance Company.

Occupation 3: November 30, 1889, "J.A. Elliott and A. Wileden have just built a splendid stone arc bride on the town line road between Lisbon and Menomonee" Creek just north of Whiskey Corners (Source: Waukesha Free Press and Fred Keller.)

Residence 1: Abt. 1870, Home was at present day W239 N6602 Maple Ave; later became home of Adelaide Weaver Weeks. According to Fred Keller, he rec'd a cottage at east apex of Champeny Dr. and Main St. as inheritance.

Residence 2: Aft. 1864, Went to Sack Bay, MI to follow an uncle in the lumber and shipping business.
