you operate(d) from your home, SLAHS wants to document your business
history. In each Directory section, the history of a particular business
(if the business has submitted their historical information) can be
found by further clicking on a hyperlink to a separate SLAHS.org web page.
The intent of these business web pages is to document the Sussex-Lisbon area
local business history, and to promote business and historical society

New Exhibit:
"Farming Exhibit": Depot Museum, every 2nd and 4th
Saturday. Will continue as main exhibit through the end of February 2010 due to
popularity. Everyone is welcome!

early letters from James Weaver (b 1800) and family to relatives in England,
dated 1831 thru 1883 describing family and circumstances in both the

Oneida, New York and Township of Lisbon, Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Why music? Both
Enya and Loreena McKennitt create and sing songs of folk-like nature. As Editor,
I added the player to several web pages thinking that visitors might welcome

The Sussex-Lisbon Area Historical Society,
Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the collection and preservation of
historically significant artifacts, pictures, stories, and similar materials
from the Sussex and Lisbon area (Lannon, Colgate, Lake Five, Marcy, Merton,
Pewaukee, Menomonee Falls, and Butler). The Society held organizational meetings in mid
2001, and formally announced intentions for official formation as a non-profit
corporation in November 2001. The Society is affiliated with the Wisconsin State
Historical Association as a local society.
The Society has an open membership
policy, welcoming all interested parties to join for a nominal fee. Annual
memberships are for the calendar year beginning on January 1 of each year.
Lifetime memberships are also available for a fee. |
